Inverter/Charger
An inverter charger is a device that combines two functions into one: it converts direct current (DC) power from a battery into alternating current (AC) power for use with standard appliances, and it charges the battery from an AC power source. This makes it a convenient solution where both power conversion and battery charging are needed. The heart of the system!
Battery
Batteries store electrical energy in DC (direct current) they are made up of cells which can add up to different DC voltages. With lithium (LiFePO4) the cells can charge and discharge very quickly and they have no issue with being at different states of charge unlike lead acid which need to be charged to 100% after every use or they will degrade. LiFePO4 has opened up the home battery market along with the electric vehicle market. Economies of scale and progress in technologies have now made it affordable and an viable investment!

Energy Trading
This is the part of the system that can make it really fun!
Home battery storage systems can facilitate energy trading, allowing homeowners to buy electricity when prices are low (Off-Peak) and sell it back to the grid when prices are high (On-Peak), potentially generating income and saving money. This “grid trading” leverages smart tariffs and AI-powered systems to optimize energy flow and capitalize on market fluctuations. So paying off the initial investment even faster and saving even more money!
